EVENT MEDICAL STANDBY Our team of NREMT-B's, NREMT-P's, Firefighters, Bike Medics and Set Medics have the qualifications and equipment to provide you with basic life support in any situation that may arise. Why trust anyone else to provide the services listed here? We are the only company that offers the caliber of medics found anywhere. We operate under the Los Angeles County expanded scope of practice. Capabilities include: Basic airway management, oxygen delivery, applying dressings and bandages, spine stabilization, splinting of extremities, monitoring vital signs, and administering CPR. Our staff are the most seasoned EMS veterans who have undergone strenuous testing (written and physical) and training to make the cut here at Southern California EMS. We do not hire 1st year medics or those who have worked primarily for transfer ambulance companies unless they have demonstrated their proficiency in skills above and beyond the national guidelines. All of our medic teams are mobile (Foot, Bike,) personnel utilizing state-of-the-art equipment such as field packs loaded with lifesaving tools. We provide on scene medical care until Advanced Life Support (Fire Dept.) arrives on scene at which point transfer of care is initiated. Our medics can work anywhere in the United States. EVENT RATES Generally costs and needed resources are based on size, type, risk assessment, and location of event. For example, large event over 10,000 attendees additionally requires appropriate staff and the possibility of an allied partner ambulance. Supervisors are generally required with events 4,000 and larger. Each resource utilized is evaluated based on the risk factors of the event and the degree of conservative concern for liability by the venue, promoter, and local permitting municipal departments (fire/law enforcement, etc.). Minimum deployment consists of
two medical staff regardless of size or type of event. This minimum deployment
enables the team to ability to respond to multiple incidents and allows for
staff safety. Most importantly, two medical staff are effectively required to
insure our ability to respond to serious emergencies. There are some exceptions
to the minimum staffing policy.
